Day 2 – III CIVENI Topics such as mental and spiritual health and Artificial Intelligence are addressed

Topics such as mental and spiritual health and Artificial Intelligence are addressed during the III CIVENI The second day of the III CIVENI, which happened this Friday, December 12th, by Veni Creator Christian University, focused on International Conferences in person in the USA.

The specific program for this day included: A lecture by Dr. Silvana Guedes (University of Caxias do Sul) who addressed: “Spirituality, Mental Health and Well-being in Organizations.” The session was moderated by Professor Ademar Galelli (CEO – Whoop Business and Personal Evolution). For Silvana, this is a pertinent topic as it stems from “so many issues we are facing, not only in Brazil, but around the world.” In her explanation, Dr. Silvana pointed out that the current scenario is one of urgency focused on mental health as a strategic priority. For her, the reasons are: “a performance society that demands constant productivity, leading to fatigue and mental exhaustion; The intense pace contributes to problems such as stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression”. She pointed out the need to reassess human priorities regarding what “leads us to a sense of purpose.”

Following this, Professor Adriano Abreu discussed “Humans and Algorithms: the strategic partnership in people management.” On that occasion, he demonstrated and challenged the audience to implement what is possible to do with AI for HR. Professor Adriano also presented research showing that Brazil is already above the world average in the use of Artificial Intelligence, with 46%, making it the global leader in the adoption of AI in HR. Meanwhile, the global average is 29%.

Following up on the event, Dr. Andreia Cristina Fidelis addressed the topic: “Mental health and purpose in work and life.” She began by discussing the restlessness of the self and how this feeling is linked to Spiritual Intelligence. She described Bauman’s “Liquid Life and the Illusion of Materiality,” in which he argues that consumption is the foundation of existence. According to Bauman, society has transformed being into having; the more unstable subjective life becomes, the more we seek objects: to prove our worth, to feel a sense of belonging, to fill emotional voids.

Other lectures were also held on the second day of CIVENI.
