DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN THEOLOGY

PRESENTATION

The doctorate in Theology seeks to deepen the knowledge of the religious phenomena in the world based on diversity, aiming to train professionals interested in working with religious analysis. Furthermore, the course seeks to scientifically delve into relevant aspects of religious matrices around the world.

TITLE AWARDED TO THE GRADUATE:
Doctor of Philosophy in Theology

OBJECTIVES:

This program equips students with the skills to analyze significant texts within historical and conceptual contexts, constructing well-founded arguments. They will explore key philosophical and theological movements, the relationship between faith and reason. Ethical principles will be applied to justice and moral decision-making, while philosophical insights will inform discussions on science and technology. Additionally, students will integrate their liberal arts education with professional training, grounding their knowledge in theoretical and historical perspectives within philosophy and theology.

Estimated duration of 48 months. Being:

  • Stage 1- courses / components;
  • Stage 2- for the preparation of the senior paper (dissertation or thesis) under direct guidance of an advisor;
  • The examination board will take place after the above-mentioned steps have been completed. If the student does not complete the thesis, they must enter into a contractual addendum and continue paying the course fees;
  • The student must make at least 03 (three) academic publications during the study period, these must be published in magazines with relevance index.
  • The student must complete an additional workload in participating in academic events and lifelong education and extension courses to form the academic-scientific curriculum.
