I Webinar: Conscious Use of Technology for Innovative Advances in Education, Health, and Business

On July 30, 2022, Veni Creator Christian University held its I Webinar with the theme “Conscious use of technology for innovative advances in Education, Health and Business”. The online event brought together participants from different areas, offering digital certification to registrants and presenting lectures by international experts.

The webinar had the participation of prominent names in the academic and professional scene:

Dr. Luiz Miguel Cardoso, PhD. from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto Alegre and researcher at the Center for Comparative Studies of the University of Lisbon (Portugal): addressed the theme “Education and Technology: the paradigms of (in)finity”, highlighting the opportunities and challenges of integrating emerging technologies in the educational field. His lecture brought deep reflections on how technological advancement expands horizons, but also requires a continuous reevaluation of values and methodologies.

Dr. Eduardo José Rodrigues Palma, a physician specialist in General Surgery and Coloproctology, with a solid academic career as a professor of Clinical Surgery, demonstrated his experience and knowledge during the webinar by addressing the theme “Medicine in the Past, Present, and Future with the Help of Technology”.

His lecture presented a detailed overview of the evolution of medicine, highlighting the transformative role of technology over the years. He discussed the advances in diagnosis and treatment, the benefits brought by digital tools in the medical day-to-day life and the ethical and practical challenges that accompany technological development.

Dr. Eduardo also explored the pros and cons of technologies applied to health, emphasizing how new resources can expand the reach of medical care and improve clinical processes, but warning of the risks of overuse, such as the dehumanization of care and technological dependence. His comprehensive vision combined practical experience with critical thinking, providing the audience with valuable reflections on the future
