On Friday, November 22, the . II Civeni ended its third and final day of in-person events in Orlando, FLThe congress, marked by its multidisciplinary approach, brought together professionals, academics, and students from various areas by promoting enriching discussions with the participation of important names such as the senator of Brazil, Damares Alves.

The first lecture of the day was delivered by the senator of Brazil, Her Excellency Dr. Damares Alves, who addressed the theme: “Relations between Brazil and the USA regarding the protection of children and adolescents” followed by the lectures by Mrs. Irma Rodriguez, volunteer director of the First Life Center Pregnancy, a shelter and support center for pregnant women in vulnerable situations, addressing the theme: “Importance of addressing the issue of human trafficking in immigrant communities, including in the ecclesiastical environment”.

Ambassador Patricia Almeida presented the topic: “Mental traps, sabotaging love choices, and the consequences for children.” Then Mr. Diego Melo, from England, presented a topic: “Hope beyond the traumas of abuse.” Mrs. Seyne Dressler, from One More Child, delivered a speech on: “The challenges of protecting children and adolescents.”

The morning event also featured an artistic presentation and a moving testimony from the mother of a child who was a victim of abuse, Haline Sampaio. Next, Vanessa Lima, president and founder of the Instituto Movimento da Infância Livres de Abusos (Institute for the Movement of Abuse-Free Children), spoke.

The afternoon session began with a speech by Dr. Luciane Weber Baia Hees on “Education as a prevention tool: The role of schools in protecting children and adolescents.” Following on from Dr. Helaine Pimentel, MPES Prosecutor, Dr. Patricia Zapponi, lawyer and president of the Laço Branco Brasil victim protection network, and Sandra Veiga, Director and Founder of Bridge for Life, presented topics such as The Impact of trauma on children and adolescent development, Human trafficking and good practices for dealing with it, domestic violence, and Femicide as the ultimate expression of domestic violence and its impact on children, respectively.

All lectures were attended by the moderators: Dr. Anna Alves-Lazaro, Renata Alvez Galdino, Dr. Patricia Portugal, Patrícia Teixeira, Fernanda Decesaro, Dr. Priscylla Carvalho, Patricia Martin, and Dr. Diana Campos.
