DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN INTERNATIONAL LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS (WITH EMPHASIS ON CHRISTIAN ETHICS)

PRESENTATION

The PhD in International Law, Human Rights and Social Justice in the Christian Perspective aims to train professionals and researchers capable of analyzing, interpreting and applying the principles of International Law and Human Rights, in the light of Christian ethics, promoting social justice, sustainable development and innovation in the global context.

Area of Concentration: International Law, Human Rights and Christian Ethics

It seeks to deepen the study of the norms and principles of International Law and Human Rights, from the perspective of ethical and Christian values, promoting reflections on justice, human dignity, religious freedom and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Lines of Research:

Line 1 – International Law, Global Justice and Christian Ethics
Objective: To investigate the principles of Public and Private International Law, analyzing their relationship with the challenges of global justice, peaceful conflict resolution and international governance. It also addresses the impact of Christian ethics on the formulation of treaties, the defense of national sovereignty, and the promotion of peace and human dignity on the global stage.

Line 2 – Human Rights, Religious Freedom and Protection of Vulnerable Groups
Objective: To analyze the role of international organizations and Christian institutions in promoting social justice, combating discrimination and formulating public policies for vulnerable groups, such as migrants, refugees and religious persecuted.

Line 3 – Innovation, Digital Transformation and Protection of Human Rights
Objective: To explore the impact of digitalization and innovation in the field of Human Rights, including the role of religious institutions in the use of technology for the promotion of human dignity.

Estimated duration of 48 months. Being:

1. Stage 1 – course subjects;
2. Stage 2 – for the preparation of the thesis by direct supervision;
3. The examining board takes place after the completion of the aforementioned steps. If the student does not complete the thesis, he will make a contractual addendum and continue to pay the course fees;
4. The student must make at least 06 (six) academic publications during the study period, which must be in journals with a relevance index.
5. The student must comply with an additional workload in the participation of academic events and continuing education and extension courses for the composition of the academic-scientific curriculum of the latter.
