Starting its 2026 academic calendar, Veni Creator Christian University (VCCU) held last Wednesday (January 21) the webinar with the theme “Building a productive and well-being environment: the role of the leader”, broadcasted on the institution’s official YouTube channel.
The event was led by speakers Dr Silvana Guedes and Dr. Ademar Galelli, both from Whoop! Business and Personal Evolution. The opening was conducted by the Dean of Academic Relations, Dr. Marcela Martins, and the Dean of International Affairs, Dr. Maria Emília Camargo. Both welcomed the participants and highlighted that the year 2026 begins with a message of renewal and spirituality.
“I hope you enjoy it a lot. This is the first lecture of the year and marks the opening of our academic calendar. Good news are yet to come”, said Dr. Martins.
Highlighting well-being in the workplace, Dr. Silvana stressed that the search for well-being is something that has occurred all over the world within organizations and how leaders will act and how they have expectations in the academic area, since the culture of this organization must be provoked.
She cited Han’s 2017 book, “Performance Society”, which deals with the following topics: continuous productivity and high self-demand, loss of emotional balance and increased stress, anxiety, and burnout. “Remember the 80s, when a lot of technology started to be brought and the aim was what you would have more free time for. So, technology would be a favoring factor for you, in your dynamics, to have more conditions of freedom of time and, with that, have a better quality of life… What was a factor of technology as a favor for well-being ended up becoming a tool that causes discomfort that really goes beyond what we expected at the time”.
Also in Dr. Silvana’s lecture, she quoted the authors Rego, Souto & Cunha (2007) about Free Spirituality at work with the approach of sense and purpose, connection and coherence of values, and promotion of mental health and well-being.
Dr. Ademar Galelli complemented the speech by reinstating the ‘Meaning of work’ by explaining its history, contemporaneity and the nature of the human being; in addition to addressing Motivation Theories: Maslow; Alderfer; McGregor; McClelland; Herzberg; Locke; Adams; Deci; Etzioni; and the quality of life at work.
For him, thinking about using more technology meant more freedom, more time available with family, friends and fun. “The more computers, the more memory, the more speed, the more problems we are creating in this sense of staying connected… And now, I hope they are not lying, with the advent of Intelligence, automation and other mechanisms of labor replacement, especially repetitive, is that we will have this peace, this tranquility to spend more pleasant moments and fewer connected moments”.
Also in the Webinar, topics related to leadership were addressed: knowing oneself, capabilities, limitations, personal charisma, ability to unite people and support them, leading from a perspective of participation.
The webinar can be seen in full on the official Veni Creator Christian University channel on YouTube.
